Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

I am speaking in general here...

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Wow, good question--I read all of the answers so far and Most of them are "like, totally", right

When we get older we don't give a damn what anyone thinks, and we shouldn't. Mine is short and a wash and go thing..looking younger ?, maybe, I think that has a lot to do with attitude. Most of us cant go and get "lifts" of any kind, so we have to deal with it...we look the very best we can, we care enough for that.. menopause takes over and hey, we have enough problems trying to stay cool...:)

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Because they cut it

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Maybe their hair gets thin.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Because it's easier to take care of.

Have you ever seen an old woman; any old woman with long hair? It makes them look like a damned zombie.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

i don't know. good question. but if you notice, the women who actually look good as older women do not have those awful short hairdo things.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

OOOOHHH arn't u a nasty boy.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Women are frequently told that shorter hair looks more professional and that it makes them look younger. Also, women with babies may find that babies grab long hair.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

I don't know but I refuse to conform. my mom has a ballbus hair do and she says she is "to old" for long hair...

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

It's easier to care for when it is shorter. It wasn't always that way though, a lot of older women left their hair long so they could put it up in a bun.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

You get tired of dealing with it as you get older. Sometimes when women get older their hair thins or falls out, so they just cut it into a short style.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Well I think that basically it is because they get lazier and lose the interest of fixing theirselves up unlike us young people. LOL I think that is the reason.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Because after sampling all the men out in the world..yes...sex wise..we found out that ..NO..they don't know what the hell they are doing with their penis..and we turn to woman...who know how to do it right.

And thus....is how lesbians were born.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

I was wondering that as well when I was at church and saw that every old woman had short hair..I figured it was because it's easier to manage and take care of.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Cause it gets gray so they cut it so that it doesn't seem SO gray.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Human hair goes thin with age. Thinned out hair usually doesnt look too good when its long.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

It's easier to take care of. Mine will hopefully never be that short, but I understand why in a way.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

It's easier to take care of and they don't care as much about impressing people.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Most older women think they look better with short hair. To tell the truth they probably do.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

I think becuz they want to reduce there grey hair

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

longer hair is for the young the older u get longer hair makes u look like a old hag

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Because it's just so darn hard to take care of!

I have med-long hair and 41....I am tired of the s#*%26amp;t.

But I am not ready to give in just yet. :)

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Because they're busy and often don't have a lot of time to manage their hair the way younger people do, in accordance with your question.

My mom's a nurse and has maintained a short and neat cut for a very long time. It's just a wash-and-go thing for her. It cuts her beauty time in half and gives her more time for breakfast, reading the paper, and all that jazz.

It's really more about maintenance for some people other than style.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

As we age, it takes more time and energy to do things. It's just easier to cut it. At least that's what my Mother said. Personally, I'm 42 and have naturally curly, waist length hair and I refuse to cut it until I have to have someone else brush it for me!

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Older women generally have a harder time looking right with long hair. Some can pull it off, but many can't. Also they are sick and tired of putting up with what a pain long hair can be. I plan to keep mine for a LONG time though.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

In general... womens hair gets thinner as they get older and if they keep it long, it looks stringy. Also its more practical and older women are generally more practical. Plus, usually if you have long hair for a while, you get bored and you feel the need to cut it. And even if you did want to grow it out again after you cut it, it's a major pain in the ***.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Because we have a hard time holding our arms up long enough to do our hair. The shorter it is, the easier to take care of (and needs less dye.)

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

Well when you age obviously gravity gets it's grasp and pulls so if you have hair down to your butt it will only make everything in between look saggier. Plus many of the women that get the super short hair cuts do not have the strength to stand there for 20 minutes like us young girls do. It's about ease and trying not to make wrinkles look worse.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

In the case of my grandmother, it became more and more difficult for her to take care of it when it was long.

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

It generally takes a while before we realize that there isn't anybody looking or care anyway. The one you've got already isn't going anywhere... so go for easy, fast and convenient. The shorter it is... the better.

This I say while my hair is still nearly waist length....

(grin) well, LOL...I can always hope!

Just wondering, why do womens hair get shorter (cut wise) the older they get?

The shorter hair cut on older women is suppose to make them look younger. I don't think so. I've got long hair down just below shoulder blades and I'm 47 but I've been told I look 35 by men and women. If I were to cut my hair short I will look older not younger.
