I have long hair...nice beautiful long hair...I want a change...but I love long hair...I want to surprise people...I want to cut it to my chin...but then again I don't..but I do...ERRRRGGGGG

Okay calm down. First of all, Do NOT do it yourself, it would be better to get it professionally done. And second of all, hair grows back so take a chance, and don't worry about it, it will grow back before you know it.

yes but trust me my mom did it and she had no idea what she was doing and i was like 7 or 8 and i remember after she cut it i was sooooo sad i was like crying and i was like omg i dont want to go to school tommorow but i did and i eventually got over it but no really you should go for a shorter look it might make you look younger sometimes having long hair ages you in a way i say find a short cut that you are comfortable with and just ask the stylist to do ti NOT YOUR MOM !!! I have long hair too, sometimes I feel like I just want a bob haircut, but then again it takes a long long time to grow it out. If you have healthy beautiful hair keep it that way. There are many people who would love to have your hair. Also, guys are more attracted to girls with long hair, it makes them sexy.

I have! I cut my shoulder length hair to about chin length and it was like a bob with bangs. It was pretty horrible. HOWEVER hair grows back. I would tell you to just go get it cut, you only have one life to live. Even thought my hair came out bad then, now i have the under layer of my hair dyed pink.

Ah yes you don't always have to 'cut' your hair to get a dramatic new look though it would be more of an impact. But you could always get some funky cool highlights. Hope this helped and good luck with your decision.

it is alot easier to make hair shorter than it is to make it longer, i would not advise a drastic change because if you dont like it you will be screwed, i would try something a bit more suttel but something dirrent, try layers or color instead of cutting it, alot of people get sad when they see someone cut off nice long hair, but if you still decide too make sure you donate it and then atleast it will make someone happy!

I cut my hair off completely when I was younger and I hated it. I cut it very drastically though, and if you have your plans all made out, you should be fine. Just make sure you tell your hairdresser exactly what you want and how you want it done. If you really want to give it a good cut, cut it to your shoulders, or a similar length and give it some layers. You could also try some sideswept bangs or straight bangs.

i had long naturally wavy and red hair that went down past my chest...and then i just up and decided to get it cut shorter than chin length...and i LOVED it...i still do...it looks so much better on me and it is so fun and you can do so much to it...like i really like big hair..and now i can have this big kinky spiky hair and i absolutly love it...

plus it will always grow out again...

ughh. ive done it. my hair was long and healthy. but then i wanted a change and ended up cutting it just passed my shoulders. i cut it nicely but i hated the fact that it was all gone. if youre not going to regret, youre going to miss it for sure. why not think about a hair color change?

Yes I have before. In 5th grade near the last day. I had very very long hair and I cut it all off. I seriously had like 2 or 3 inches only! It looked horrible in my opinion. It was decided on the spur of the moment and I was sooo sad after. I recommend REALLY taking a while to think it over. If you're wanting to cut it for the first day I don't think you should rush and do that. Surprise everyone with a cut outfit and such then really think on cutting it. It's a big decision!
